Soul Midwives Scotland

Help and support - find a Soul Midwife here

If you are looking for Soul Midwifery support for yourself, or for someone you care for, this directory brings together currently practising Soul Midwives across Scotland. It is offered as a way of helping you find someone who may be able to walk alongside you or someone close to you.

All practitioners listed work independently, so we gently encourage you to take time to explore who feels right for you, and to check their experience and insurance where appropriate. Being listed here does not imply endorsement by Soul Midwives Scotland, and any arrangements are made directly with the practitioner.

Soul Midwives offering TLC Training are clearly marked ‘TLC Trainer’.

Caroline Cormack

Soul Midwife

Working in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire as well as on Zoom

I was ordained as an Interfaith Minister in 2010 and began chaplaincy, spiritual listening and ceremony work. In 2023 I qualified as a Soul Midwife, offering holistic and spiritual companionship to the dying to lovingly ensure their death is a peaceful experience. This also involves supporting their families and carers through these challenging times of change.

Jude Meryl

Soul Midwife and TLC Trainer

Working around Perthshire as well as on Zoom

After over thirty years of working in education and educational retail, Jude trained as a Soul Midwife in 2013, and has since continued to work alongside families, Care Agencies, GPs, District Nurses and Hospice at Home to support those at end of life who wish to die at home.

Having also been a carer for many years, Jude is passionate about sharing our Soul Midwives TLC (Tender Loving Care) courses with other carers and care givers. She is equally passionate about raising awareness of the hugely positive contribution Soul Midwives can make to End of Life care.

Jude is based in Perthshire and is happy to work in person, and remotely via Zoom, video or phone call, to give talks on Soul Midwifery and to provide information and advice on the days after death as part of Pushing Up The Daisies’ Daisy Chain network.

Jude is the Mentor for Soul Midwives in Scotland.

Linda McCurrach

Soul Midwife and TLC Trainer

Linda has been working in this field since 2001 and has dedicated her life to developing her skills supporting people who are dying and their families

Linda founded the charity NODA Ayrshire to help her community to view death as the important rite of passage and sacred event that it is. Linda is a Druid and a Buddhist and is registered by the National Records of Scotland as a celebrant through The Pagan Federation Scotland to legally officiate weddings.

Lorna McLean

Soul Midwife

Ritual brings meaning. Ceremony brings peace. Together they create beauty and belonging at life’s edge

Rachel Cheer

Soul Midwife and TLC Trainer

Based in Fife and working primarily in Perthshire and Fife

Reverend Rachel Cheer works as an Ordained Celebrant, Soul Midwife and Shamanic Practitioner.

She has been fascinated with all rites of passage, especially death, since she was a child.

Having worked for over a decade for a children’s hospice charity, Rachel felt called, in 2019, to work independently with death and dying and started her own business called Hope Ceremonies.

From the first instant that Rachel heard the term Soul Midwife, end of life practitioner, it became her dream to train and work as one.

She feels blessed to have found Felicity Warner’s Soul Midwife School and complete her training and gone on to share these skills within the community.

Sharron Kelly

Soul Midwife and TLC Trainer

Sharron and No-one Dies Alone Lanarkshire cover the Clydesdale area and South Lanarkshire

I have spent 9 years working in Palliative Care at a local hospice.

As a Soul Midwife I offer non medical holistic companionship, as well as guidance and support to the dying to help them to have a peaceful death.

At No-one Dies Alone Lanarkshire we train volunteers to offer companionship and support to those who have a palliative diagnosis and we offer support by keeping a loving vigil at their beside when they are at end of life.

We also host a grief café and a carers drop in at our hub in South Lanarkshire.

We provide TLC training for our volunteers, community groups, social care and nursing home staff and we can provide both online & telephone support if required.
